“And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.” (John 2:13-17)

this was awesome – great vid! I havn’t seen bullhorn guy for ages – is it pretty much the same script?

  2. Haha, yeah. It is pretty similar!

  3. Joe C. says:

To be honest…I really didn’t like this.

Not that I agree with anything the satire man was saying, but I do not think it accurately portrays the people it goes after.

Basically I’m saying, this video was a thinly veiled straw man argument.

That’s just how it seemed to me. The errors in the Church aren’t as obvious as that video makes it out.

  4. Have you seen the Bullhorn video by Rob Bell?

  5. Dennis Cain says:

Excellent. Demonstrating absurdity by being absurd.

  6. Joe C. says:

No Ben I haven’t. Would that change my impression of this video being a straw man?

Do you have a link, I’ll watch it?

    Thanks Ben,

  7. Sheldon says:

Inevitable result of post-modern Emergent theology is blasphemy as witnessed in this video. Maybe I completely missed the mark on this and he was trying to make my point above, but seriously; is this guy for real? Go easy now. I could see this from a totally different direction and am not getting it.

  9. Yes, you must watch the Rob Bell Nooma Bull Horn video above before this parody will make sense.

  10. Joe C. says:

    OH…now I get it.

Yeah, bullwhip guy is good satire. But notice it’s longer…it still ‘adds’ stuff to what Bell said. But alright, I get it now. Yeah, that’s pretty ridiculous.

Most of the preaching in the Bible was open air. I wonder if Bell remembers that…

Another good one to watch is Todd Friel’s response to the Bullhorn Guy….I like Todd a lot, but it’s not as good as this one is….but it’s still good.

Don’t know how to link teh youtube so here’s the link raw

  12. AC says:

Actually Joe, thats not the full version of the Bullhorn Guy video. Its a bit longer than that, I would say, something like 10 minutes.

  13. Carol says:

    I have a transcript…but it’s a bit long to post..

  14. eris says:

Now how sad is that? Is that all this guy could come up with? I wonder what is that he does not understand. It is as if one picked up a book. Opened it on the middle, read one paragraph and then proceeded to tell me what the book was all about. This man needs to read the whole book. He needs to learn to read. Please dear video guy prepare, read, learn and study for your self.

I guess you can say I like Rob Bell. I like people that spent time a long time to understand the scriptures. Reading Rob and watching him I have come to learn and now seek to think for myself. Reading, learning and researching.

I guess we all can learn from each-other but this guy is playing the know it all to the point of thinking that he is better than his fellow brother.

I might be wrong but this is the way I react to that video.

  15. I think you might be wrong too. :) Here’s another one to check out: A Critique of Rob Bell’s Nooma DVD “Dust”

  16. chris says:

It’s an insightful satire but concerning. Pastor Bell’s point is about the delivery of the word of God, not the content. Two very very different things.

And the addition of clearly heretical content by the Bullwhip guy is just a low-blow.

  17. Heaven says:

Hey guys, im looking for the full verison of rob bell’s nooma dust. can somebody please send it to me? the written version of the video verison, both are good
