Winning the World for Christ!

Is it possible? Could it happen if we preach the Biblical gospel that we have been commanded to? No doubt one of the greatest preachers to ever live was the apostle Paul. Let’s look at examples in the book of Acts and see what results his message received. If we are preaching the same message, we should expect the same result, right?

When Paul preached the crowd began contradicting and blaspheming (13:45)
When Paul preached he and Barnabas were persecuted and thrown out of the region (13:50)
When Paul preached the crowd plotted to stone them forcing them to flee (14:5)
When Paul preach he was stoned and left for dead (14:19)
When Paul preached he and Silas were beaten with many stripes and thrown into prison (16:23)
When Paul preached his hearers opposed and reviled him and blasphemed (18:6)
When Paul preached his hearers were full of wrath and seized Paul’s companions (19:26)
When Paul preached he preached knowing the warning given by the Holy Spirit that bonds and afflictions awaited him wherever he spoke (20:23)
When Paul preached as soon as he began to speak he was smacked in the mouth (23:1)
When Paul preached there was great dissension in the crowd and he was nearly pulled in pieces (23:10)
When Paul preached more than forty Jews conspired to murder him (23:12)
When Paul preached he was called a “pestilent fellow,” a “mover of sedition” and a “ringleader of a sect” (24:5)

When Paul preached he said, “But even if we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed (Galatians 1:7-8).

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (John 15:19)
